Years ago my, then, teenage son, Kasey, gave me a small picture he had picked up at an office supply company as a Christmas gift. The simple black frame contained a darkened background highlighting a small worn nub of a yellow #2 pencil. Its point was carved with a pen knife, the pink erase work and chewed.
