Persistence is the Wild Protection of a Dream.

Years ago my, then, teenage son, Kasey, gave me a small picture he had picked up at an office supply company as a Christmas gift. The simple black frame contained a darkened background highlighting a small worn nub of a yellow #2 pencil. Its point was carved with a pen knife, the pink erase work and chewed.

Persistence it said. Now that we have exhausted all possibilities…Let’s get started.

I recently was speaking with a client who big dream had just come true. It took 11 years of persistence and in two short unexpected weeks in a whirlwind of possibilities and negotiations—it came true.

Discouragement comes in many disguises. Friends may lose interest in your dream, there may be unexpected family crisis and in recent years, discouragement indeed could have worn the mask of financial setback.

Persistence, Passion and the courage to overcome doubt is the wild protection of dreams. Be a warrior, stand strong and never let anyone take your dream because it could not only change your world.

It could change the world.
